On the Sports front, changes to the format of Sports Day were reported:
A.new era dawned in Drayton Manor's sports history on Thursday 22nd May. 1969. In accordance with the practice of qther schools we changed to the metric system. This was the first sports day since the house system was abolished and the new divisions were introduced - Minor, Junior, Intermediate. and Senior. Unfortunately the day that promised so much produced very little.
Sporting activities reported included the Staff v School Hockey Match, Fencing Club, 1st XI Cricket Team, and the 1st Netball Team.
