By the time that Phoenix 1964 was published in December 1964, the previous year's First Form intake had made more of an impact and examples of their original work from the 1963-64 school year were much in evidence. The magazine included contributions from:
D. Banner 1C, Bernice Clare 1A (3 items), P. Lockett 1A (3 items), Linda Powell 1C, Mary Wylie 1A, T. Dean 1C, A. Palmer 1C, M. Hickey 1A, and P. Kapsia 1A (2 items).
This preponderance of input from Form 1A seems to suggest that members of that class had some power over the magazine's Editorial Committee! Perhaps now after more than 35 years, the truth can be told? Come on Form 1A what influence did you have?

You may be interested in perusing some extracts from the 1964 edition of Phoenix.
The report on Speech Day may be of interest for some background to the educational changes filtering through at that time - possibly some things we, as pupils, were not aware of.
The Junior Speech Trophy Competition may have been a nightmare to some pupils, one of our intake took part in this year's event...
Some brief notes on Staff Changes are provided to help clarify who was teaching when.
A number of familiar names begin to crop up in the reporting of Sports Achievements
