Phoenix 1963 had a publication date of December 1963. As such, being prepared in the Autumn Term of that year, the impact of the 1963 intake is minimal. The major reference is the listing of the New Admissions for September 1963 that comprise the 1963 intake of First Formers that are listed elsewhere on this website. The only other contribution from the 1963 intake is a piece of original work by P Lockett of form 1A - a poem entitled "The Unemployed". Of interest are the "School Notes" section that lists Staff changes and similar information. Other articles describing the Open Day held on March 6th 1963 indicate that the School we joined that year had undergone a large amount of building and extension work and we were experiencing the advantages of enlargened facilities.
